2004 _ ARQUIMEA is born​

ARQUIMEA, the first company of ARQUIMEA Group, is founded by Diego Fernández PhD, founder and President. The company was born as a spin-off of the projects carried out by Fernández during his time at University Carlos III de Madrid. A year later, we already are one of the European Space Agency (ESA)’s partners.

EXPACE is born with the goal of developing technology for the defence and security sectors.

2009 _ We become a referent
in mechanisms based on Shape Memory
Alloys (SMA)

ARQUIMEA wins its first contract with the ESA to studiy aleations of shape-memory alloys (SMA) for space application. From then on, we become leaders in mechanisms based on SMA. We develop actuators for the deployment of solar panels and satellite antenas and support systems for astronauts at the International space station. We start designing microchips for the aerospace industry and we become the technology partner of the sector’s leading businesses.

We develop and make the first bird-shaped drone to offer a highly innovative solution for bird control in airports, nuclear power plants and crop fields.

We enter the biotechnology world at the international level by integrating the company GVP to our Group. GVP has more tan 20 years of experience developing products and services in the field of animal reproduction. We create ZOITECHLab. We develop technologies for nuclear waste management and collaborate with waste management international agencies.

We apply our experience and knowledge of technology and the R&D environment to finance to boost innovative projects that transform society.

Our technology research center is born with the calling of boosting and preserving ARQUIMEA Group and its companies’ innovative natureIts mission is to provide the Group’s brands with capacity of implementing the R&D projects they carry out.

We grow our business with the acquisition of RAMEM, specialized in industrial design and making, and AMERICA, whose activity is focused on assembling and maintenance of electric railway installations.  

At the beginning of the health crisis prompted by COVID19, we found Alianza Covid19, a consortium of Spanish genetic diagnosis labs that produce PCR and ELISA tests to detect coronavirus. We start ARQUIMEA Medical, our healthtech business unit.
